A hearty and slightly soggy thanks to Mikaela of backfromtheedge for giving me the nod. Yes, I got a bit teary. It had been one of those weeks and the worth of validation from a peer cannot be understated. That a particular story had made such an impact was even more of a boost.
Of course with great recognition comes great responsibility, such as linking back to the place that started it all. These good folks decided to create this recognition, thus saving foundering egos such as mine from giving up the ghost. Good on you, Thought Palette-eers.

Of course this is hard because I subscribe to and admire quite a number of blogs, but if I narrow it to the ones I visit most often and which, every single time, leave me with more than I arrived, I can narrow it down to these four, in no particular order:

Thanks again, Mikaela. Not only did you make my week, you gave me a reason to celebrate, by which I mean, a reason to enjoy a couple of White Fudge Oreos. Not that I wouldn’t have eaten the cookies anyway, but originally they would have been consolation cookies for a terrible week and instead they became celebratory cookies, which, I don’t know if you know this, have no calories.
